PLDT started rolling out a permanent speed upgrade for Unli Fibr and Unli DSL Plans since December 2018 as part of their HoliDeals Christmas Broadband Sale which is available to new PLDT customers and its existing subscribers. Mislatel, The Official Third Telco In The Philippines - What To Expect

Mislatel was declared by National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) as the official third telco in the country. The Confirmation Order (Resolution) declaring Mislatel as the New Major Player was issued on November 19, 2018, 12 days after the bid documents were opened. According to the NTC, the Mislatel consortium, comprised of Udenna Corporation, Chelsea Holdings, and China Telecom, passed the Document Verification Phase conducted by the NMP Selection Committee that merited them for the akibat confirmation from the NTC En Banc. Pldt, Smart 5G To Launch In Clark, Pampanga

Leading Philippine telco, PLDT-Smart, together with Swedish telecom company Ericsson will launch 5G cell site in Clark, Pampanga this November 2018. Clark Freeport Zone will be the country's first Smart 5G City, which will bring the city 5G equipped together with the increased 4G LTE roll-out. "We are happy to be working with CDC in building the city of the future, equipped with smart services and powered by 5G infrastructure, right here in Pampanga. Mislatel Consortium, comprised of Dennis Uy's Udenna Corp. based in Davao and its logistics arm, Chelsea Logistics Holdings, partnered with the state-owned China Telecom, has been selected by the NTC as the provisional third New Major Player (NMP) . Mindanao Islamic Telephone Company or Mislatel succeed the selection process after undergoing a series of evaluations on their submitted documents which demonstrated their technical and financial capability to deliver telco services in the country in competition with existing players PLDT-Smart and Globe Telecom. Abs-Cbn Mobile Is Ending Its Service Due To Losses

ABS-CBN Mobile is ending its service after suffering from huge financial losses of up to P560 million in 2017. This is the reason why ABS-CBN Convergence, the ABS-CBN network's mobile arm, did not renew its service this 2018 and decided to end the 5-year network sharing agreement with Globe, signed 2013.
